Tangletown, but I still call it Wallingford

If you're in Seattle's northend, on 50th street, and turn north on Meridian and go five blocks, you might not have realized it, but baby: Elysian Brew PubYou're In Tangletown!

Most folks think it's Wallingford, because that's what most of the surrounding neighborhood is called, Wallingford Ave. is just a couple blocks away. I call it Wallingford too. Not sure why, because it's really Tangletown. Here's a quick stroll around:

The Zoka Cafe is a coffee roaster, it's super close to my place, and a great place to hang out and do my online stuff. Feels a little like my living room.zoka A while back, they used to get acoustic music acts on the weekends. They haven't lately, but I hope that comes back.

Kisaku Sushi has been around for years now.Kisaku Sushi I haven't tried it yet, but the neighborhood loves the place. I'm gonna have to check it out, the prices look really good.

The Beehive Salon kinda gives the flavor of the old/new feel of this part of town.Beehive Salon There's a little retro sort of thing, along with a sort of hip new feel and a bunch of young people around starting families. It's really a great neighborhood.

And you gotta love Mighty O Donuts. Mighty O DonutsThese folks have elevated donuts truly to the level of fine art. And you're gonna know it, when you pay almost two bucks for a donut.

Not to mention a few of the other great places in the neighborhood, like the Luau Polynesian Lounge, and Leny's Tavern and the Dock Street Burger people, who share a roof. Geez, there's a chiropractor and a dentist, even a jehovah's witness hall, all of this within a few hundred yards of my door.

What's not to Love about Tangletown?
