after i snapped a picture of this girl from some distance in a narrow street in zanzibar's stonetown, she walked up to me, never taking the binoculars from her eyes, and whispered "tena" ("do it again"). i snapped another picture. she smiled sweetly and said "safi" (fine, nice). she kept watching me through her binoculars as i walked away.
